01 / IN SHORTFour things to know first.
- It plays online. Ohdoki, the Handy's maker, uses Bluetooth only for setup. Players reach the Handy over Wi-Fi, through Ohdoki's servers.
- The connection key is its address. Anyone who has it can move the device while it is online, so keep it private. You can change it at any time; the old key then stops working.
- The script may go first. Many players send the whole script to the device when you open a video. HereSphere notes this can take several seconds.
- Names must match.
evening.mp4plays withevening.funscript, in the same folder. New to the format? Read the funscript, explained.
02 / GET IT ONLINESet it up once, in the Onboarding app.
- Install the Handy Onboarding App.Ohdoki's setup app, for the Handy 2 and for the Handy 1 on firmware 3. Choose the Handy, tap Search for Devices and connect over Bluetooth.
- Join your Wi-Fi.Pick your network and let the connection test finish. Take the firmware update when offered: Ohdoki calls it optional but highly recommended.
- Choose how it starts. In the app's menu, Advanced, then Boot mode. Ohdoki recommends WiFi for the steadiest connection; WiFi & Bluetooth adds roughly 20 to 100 ms of delay.
- Copy your connection key.It sits in the middle of the main screen, below the picture of the device. Bold letters are capitals and red characters are numbers.
- Go online and test.Close the app and restart the Handy. On a Handy 2, a steady pink light, or pink alternating with blue, means it is online. On handyverse.com, choose Connect and enter the key: the button should read Connected.
On a Handy 1, unplug it, plug it back in and briefly press the button above the light. A slow magenta pulse means it is online; blue means the button was held too long.
03 / PICK A PLAYERAny of these takes the key.
| Player | Runs on | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Handyverse | Browser, by Ohdoki | Its Video Player takes a video and a funscript or CSV, flat, VR or audio. Includes a sync test. |
| HereSphere | Quest and PC VR | Key in user settings, then turn on Synchronized Peripherals. Looks for the script beside the video, then in an Interactive folder. |
| DeoVR | Quest, Pico, Windows | Key under Settings, Haptics. Ohdoki notes the headset and Handy must share a network, and that the Handy needs an SLR subscription here. |
| ScriptPlayer | Windows | Open source. Local videos on the Handy, and other toys through Intiface. |
| MultiFunPlayer | Windows | Open source. Follows DeoVR, HereSphere, MPV, VLC and others; its Handy output is marked experimental. |
| Stash | Your media server | Key under Settings, Interface. Scripts are linked to videos of the same name after a scan. |
| ANANGA | Browser | Connects by key, with a per-scene offset and a heat strip of intensity. It opens to everyone this winter. |

04 / EARLY OR LATESet the offset once.
Wi-Fi adds delay, so Ohdoki expects many setups to need a small correction. In Handyverse, open the Control Panel and find Sync adjustment on the left. The middle of the bar is 0 ms. Left gives a negative offset, so the device moves earlier; right gives a positive one, so it moves later.
The Client latency and Device latency readings show which way to go, and Resync refreshes them. The Sync test page loops a test video with an on-screen simulator, so you can compare the device with the picture.
Other players have their own offset; HereSphere lets you star favourites. Set it once for your setup, not video by video. If a script slips further as the video goes on, the offset is not the cause: see the sync guide.
05 / WON'T CONNECTFive checks, in order.
| What you see | What to try |
|---|---|
| The key is rejected | Check look-alikes, such as a lowercase l and a capital I, or change the key. Check the Handy is in Online mode, not Bluetooth mode. |
| Red, then green | If the light blinks red for about ten seconds, then turns green, it could not join your Wi-Fi. Press the online button at least three more times, or try a phone hotspot. |
| Firmware warning | HereSphere shows Firmware Update Required for old firmware. Update it from the Onboarding app. |
| Slow to start | The script is still loading. Wait a few seconds, or pause and play again. |
| Short strokes | The sync test page in Handyverse has a stroke length slider. |
06 / BLUETOOTHPossible, not supported.
Community tools can drive a Handy over Bluetooth, without the internet. Intiface Central connects to one on firmware 3 or later: turn it on, wait for green, then hold the WiFi button until the light turns blue while Intiface scans. Intiface notes the stroke may be shorter this way until internal settings are changed.
Ohdoki does not recommend this route and says it is less accurate than playing online. Online, services know your Handy only by its key; Ohdoki says they do not receive its network address.
07 / QUESTIONSAsked often.
Do I need Wi-Fi to play funscripts on the Handy?
For Ohdoki's apps and the players built on its service, yes. Bluetooth playback through community tools exists, but Ohdoki does not recommend it.
Where do I find my connection key?
In the middle of the Handy Onboarding App's main screen. Handyverse also shows it through Connect Device, top right.
Funscript or CSV?
Either. CSV is the Handy's own format: one line per point, a time in milliseconds and a position from 0 to 100. A funscript holds the same data as JSON, and Handyverse takes both.
Does the Handy play multi-axis scripts?
It plays the main stroke script. Twist or roll files are for devices like the SR6, and players ignore axes a device cannot use. See multi-axis scripts.
Where do I find scripts?
Ohdoki points to its own IVDB and to community sites; our guide to finding funscripts covers the main ones. ANANGA's free, open catalogue is at ananga.ai/scripts. Before you play a file, check it for speed problems.
