01 / IN SHORTThree routes into the headset.
- A VR player with devices built in. HereSphere and DeoVR connect the Handy by its key, inside the headset.
- A computer that follows the headset. A desktop player reads the playing position from DeoVR or HereSphere and drives devices the headset cannot reach, such as Intiface toys or an OSR2 on a cable.
- A web player in the Quest browser. WebXR is the browser's VR mode. ANANGA's player uses it for 180° and 360° video.
- The Handy is the simplest. It connects over the internet by its key, so it needs no cable and no computer. See the Handy guide.
02 / VR PLAYERSOn the headset itself.
| Player | Devices | Finding the script |
|---|---|---|
| HereSphere | The Handy, by key in user settings, then the Synchronized Peripherals toggle. Its developer said in 2023 that it also reaches Kiiroo-protocol strokers, such as the Keon and Onyx, over Bluetooth. | Beside the video, including on a network share, then the Interactive folder on the headset. |
| DeoVR | The Handy, by key under Settings, Haptics. Ohdoki notes this needs an SLR subscription. | Exactly the same name as the video. |
| Pigasus | The Handy, which Ohdoki lists; setup is in Pigasus's own FAQ. | See its FAQ. |
| Handyfeeling | The Handy, in Ohdoki's local video player, in a web browser. | You load both files. Ohdoki says its VR playback is limited and not optimised. |
HereSphere has its own time offset for synchronized peripherals, with favourites; set it once, as in fixing sync.
03 / FOLLOW FROM A COMPUTERFor Intiface toys and TCode devices.
A headset app reaches only what the headset can reach. To use toys through Intiface, or an OSR2 or SR6 on a cable, run a player on a computer and let it follow the video in the headset.
- MultiFunPlayer (Windows) follows DeoVR and HereSphere, among others, and drives Buttplug, TCode and Handy outputs.
- XTPlayer (Windows, Linux, macOS) follows DeoVR, HereSphere and Whirligig, for TCode devices.
- ScriptPlayer (Windows) can follow HereSphere: HereSphere's developer describes entering the headset's address and port in ScriptPlayer's DeoVR field.
DeoVR's remote-control interface listens on TCP port 23554 and reports the playing position about once a second; HereSphere has a playback event server for the same job. Keep the headset and the computer on the same steady network. Device setup is in the Intiface and OSR2 and SR6 guides.
04 / WEBXRVR in the browser.
WebXR lets a web page show video in the headset, with nothing to install. The Meta Quest browser can also take an ordinary video full screen and reproject it as 180° or 360°, mono or stereo. Meta calls WebXR media layers the most efficient way to show immersive video.
Formats matter more on the web than in an app. Every Quest decodes video in hardware, every format plays at 4K, and 8K needs H.265 or AV1. AV1 is not hardware-decoded on the Quest 2 or Quest Pro, and VP8 is not on the Quest 3 or 3S. For high-resolution VR video, H.265 is the choice that suits every current headset.
ANANGA's player plays 180° and 360° video in WebXR and keeps your files on your device. It opens to everyone this winter.
05 / FILES AND NAMESName the video for the player too.
The script pairs with the video by name, as always. VR players also read the projection from the video's name. DeoVR documents flags such as _180 and _360, SBS or LR for side by side, TB or OverUnder for top and bottom, and fisheye variants such as _fisheye190 and _mkx200. They are not case-sensitive and can come in any order.
The script takes the video's full name, flags included: evening_180_SBS.mp4 pairs with evening_180_SBS.funscript.
On a Quest 3, DeoVR may need permission to read the headset's storage before local files appear. In the headset's Settings, open Apps, choose DeoVR and grant it.
06 / QUESTIONSAsked often.
Do I need a computer for VR funscripts?
Not with the Handy: HereSphere and DeoVR reach it by its key. For Intiface toys or a cabled OSR2 or SR6, a computer that follows the headset is the usual route.
Can I use a Kiiroo Keon in VR?
HereSphere's developer has said it connects Kiiroo-protocol strokers over Bluetooth. You can also use a computer with Intiface that follows the headset. See the Keon guide.
Where do I put scripts on the headset?
Beside the video is safest. HereSphere also checks a fallback folder, by default the Interactive folder in the headset's internal shared storage.
Why does the device wait a few seconds after the video starts?
With the Handy, the script is often sent to the device first. HereSphere notes this can take several seconds; pausing and playing, or seeking, resyncs it.
Where can I find VR scripts?
See where to find funscripts, and ANANGA's free, open catalogue at ananga.ai/scripts. Check a script before you put the headset on.
